Four Twelve Development builds with purposeful intent, and a pure love for the process and outcome.
We build new homes, starting from a vacant lot, or a vacant building, we bring it to life and make it a loved place.
Your existing spaces need attention too, so we handle remodels of entire homes, kitchens, bathrooms or whatever needs it.
specialty custom work
The more challenging the better - from one of a kind staircases, built in cabinets and custom pieces that can only be dreamt of.
We are fortunate to continue working with clients who want something unique for their living spaces. In this project we combined a mix of modern elements with some subtle finish decisions to build what stands as a beautiful kitchen.
A giant 40"x60" dual head shower with hand sprayer, free standing tub and double vanity, how could you ask for more. The subway tile run around the entire perimeter of the bathroom and the marble herringbone pattern tile create a modern look with classic materials. The curbless shower floor, transitions seamlessly into the floor, and the slotted edge drain completes the seamless feel.
This 6Kw system uses the SolarEdge inverter and optimizer setup and twenty Aleo 305Watt panels. A nice southern exposure on the back side of the house makes for a perfect situation to generate power and also hide the panels from street view.
How do you fully utilize your entry way space? By adding cubbies to store all the boots, jackets, gloves and hats that normally would get strewn all over the place. These cubbies were built in place to fit the space perfectly and be as space efficent as possible.
Since starting our project at 1600 Barclay, we have found numerous projects that allowed us to tap into Brick + Board's stockpile of beautiful building products.
On June 5th, we received a call from Jubilee Baltimore. Jubilee and Neighborhood Housing Services (NHS) had identified a local resident in Greenmount West whose home was in critical condition - the roof was caving in and broken joists were popping through the ceiling above the bedroom. As a part of their "Legacy Resident Renovation" program, Jubilee and NHS were planning to finance the renovation and had begun the process of identifying a contractor to do the work.
Brickwork is something special in Baltimore City. The homes we are building at 1600 Barclay will be in homage to the the historical architecture of this city. In order to make our brick facades most authentic, we went and walked the block of 1600 Barclay St, in search of the oldest home with the most original architectural details.
As we have grown our company, we have identified many amazing institutions in Baltimore with which we were eager to partner with. One of the most wonderful we have found, is Montessori Public Charter School in Greenmount West.
Montessori wow'ed us from the moment we connected with them.
One of the beauties of new construction homes, is that you are working with a blank canvas. In old homes, you CAN tear out old elements that don't suit your fancy. But one element that is there to stay, is the concrete slab and foundation.
Four Twelve Development is a product of the current climate in Baltimore City. Following the recession of 2008, The Mayor of Baltimore City designed a program called the Vacants to Value (or V2V) program, with an idea to take vacant homes throughout Baltimore, and give them to people for cheap if they were able to restore them.
Today we had the topsoil removed from the footprint of our town homes, this is a necessary first step in putting down a foundation on any site, as the topsoil does not have enough compaction strength to hold up the buildings without shifting
One of the first things we do when working on a rehab or new construction is to get power on the site. This means setting up temporary service to the location, which we did today.
